SUMMARY:BJHS & BHS Choir Concert
DESCRIPTION:Burley High School and Burley Junior High proudly present the joint concert of their respective choir ensembles\, directed by Mr. “Dusty” Fisher. \nDirector: Mr. D. “Dusty” Fisher \nMr. Fisher has been an frequent face at Burley High School since 2011. He began as a substitute\, working primarily in the Drama department and directing several productions in the absence of the\, then\, full-time director. He took over the Band program full-time in 2013\, following the retirement of Mr. Steve Floyd. Soon after\, he was appointed Director of Choirs\, as well as director of the King Fine Arts Center. \n\nMr. Fisher now directs several vocal ensembles at Burley High School\, as well as at Burley Junior High – in association with Dr. Paul Pugh. His newest high school ensemble Bella Voce has become one of the premier vocal groups of the Magic Valley. Mr. Fisher has a Master’s Degree in Conducting from Eastman School of Music.

The play is alternately hilarious and touching as it moves from the excitement of Shelby’s wedding to sadness\, as friends mourn her loss. He has been featured globally in live performances\, including touring the United States\, Canada\, and Mexico with Yanni; performing with Latin singing sensation Olga Tañon; touring England\, Scotland\, and Wales with Katherine Jenkins and the National Symphony Orchestra; performing for Prince Charles in conjunction with the British Forces Foundation and the USO; and performing with orchestras and symphonies around the US. \nIntroducing Nathan Pacheco and Christmas with Nathan Pacheco began airing on PBS in 2012. Nathan has also been featured prominently in broadcasts with Yanni and The Tabernacle Choir. The selections performed range from classical works to modern show tunes so that there is always something everyone will enjoy. \nGuest Conductor: Tim Wood \nTim Wood was born and raised in the Northwest and has lived and worked in Washington and Idaho most of his life. He completed his undergraduate work\, (Bachelor of Music\, Music Composition)\, at Central Washington University and his graduate degree\, (Master of Music Education)\, at the University of Idaho. \nHis family has been a farming family in central Washington for over 75 years- several of his cousins still operate fruit orchards. When he’s not teaching\, he enjoys skiing\, reading or enjoying some time with his wife Connie. They’ve been married 28 years and their son finished his engineering degree at the University of Idaho last spring. \nSome of his directing experiences include community orchestras and pit orchestras for musicals. He’s done everything from guitar slinging with worship groups to fronting Jazz Bands and playing principal clarinet with an orchestra. He’s presently deciding whether to form a Jazz Combo again. He’s taught high school classes in AP music theory\, bands of all kinds\, choirs\, mariachi\, guitar\, and more. He presently teaches a section of dual credit music appreciation at Burley High School where he is chairman of the fine arts department and teaches bands and guitar. He’s taught college classes in jazz performance\, and private saxophone instruction.
