DESCRIPTION:Burley High School and Burley Junior High proudly present the joint concert of their respective choir ensembles\, directed by Mr. “Dusty” Fisher. \nDirector: Mr. D. “Dusty” Fisher \nMr. Fisher has been an frequent face at Burley High School since 2011. He began as a substitute\, working primarily in the Drama department and directing several productions in the absence of the\, then\, full-time director. He took over the Band program full-time in 2013\, following the retirement of Mr. Steve Floyd. Soon after\, he was appointed Director of Choirs\, as well as director of the King Fine Arts Center. \n\nMr. Fisher now directs several vocal ensembles at Burley High School\, as well as at Burley Junior High – in association with Dr. Paul Pugh. His newest high school ensemble Bella Voce has become one of the premier vocal groups of the Magic Valley. Mr. Fisher has a Master’s Degree in Conducting from Eastman School of Music.

SUMMARY:A Christmas with David Archuleta
DESCRIPTION:At just 16 yrs old\, David Archuleta became a star. In 2008 more than 30 million television viewers fell in love with his angelic voice\, making him runner-up in Season 7 of “American Idol.” His first single “Crush\,” debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart\, eventually going double platinum after selling more than 2 million digital copies\, worldwide. \nAfter a few more albums\, appearing as a guest star on The Mormon Tabernacle Choir’s holiday album\, and starring in a mini-series in the Philippines\, Archuleta (a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) put his singing career on hiatus so he could serve a two-year stint as a missionary outside of Santiago\, Chile. \nSince his return to music in 2014\, David successfully began releasing music under his own indie label\, Archie Music. Regularly selling out two domestic tours a year and with a total of nine studio albums under his belt\, Archuleta now resides in Nashville where\, in his downtime\, he’s able to collaborate with other songwriters and musicians. His most recent album ‘Therapy Sessions\,’ which Billboard magazine dubbed as his “most vulnerable music yet\,” narrates Archuleta’s lifelong struggle with mental health. \n“Whether it was fear\, loss\, dwelling on the past\, or anxiety. There’s a constant battle going on because so much of my mind doesn’t want to budge. The selections performed range from classical works to modern show tunes so that there is always something everyone will enjoy. \nGuest Conductor: Roger Turner \nRoger Turner fell in love with music playing in band at Burley Jr. High. He played trombone under the direction of several influential teachers including Mike Chesley\, Skip Leone\, Richard Youree and David Jenkins. He studied music on scholarship at Ricks College and later at BYU. He met his wife LeeAnn\, at Ricks where they both played in the symphony orchestra. \nAt BYU he played in the Philharmonic\, Synthesis\, Wind Ensemble and Cougar Band. While there he was influenced by several directors and teachers: Newell Dayley\, Ralph Laycock\, David Blackinton\, Dan Bachelder and Carson Sharp. He also played in several pit orchestras for operas\, musicals\, brass quintets\, jazz combos and other small groups. He also studied at Arizona State University under Gail Eugene Wilson. He received his Master’s in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho. \nRoger began his teaching career at Teton High School in Driggs\, Idaho\, then Minico High School and currently teaches at Declo. He has spent 36 years teaching bands\, orchestras\, choirs and elementary music. He has taught from kindergarten through college level. Roger has been a member of the Magic Philharmonic Orchestra for over thirty years playing F horn and trombone. He has served as section leader\, assistant conductor and guest conductor with the orchestra. He has also conducted several musicals including You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown\, Camelot\, Man of La Mancha\, Kiss Me Kate and Tarzan. \n  \nGuest Artist: Annette Critchfield Hansen \nAnnette Critchfield Hansen was born and raised in the Oakley Valley. She has two brothers and a sister and together\, with her parents\, worked on the family farm. She studied piano and organ with Norene Clark. She continued her studies at BYU with Harvey Rich. She has also studied with Christian Nilsson\, Don Royster\, Mayna McGill\, Teala Percin Sue Miller\, and Kori Bond. She graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in Music from CSI and recently graduated from ISU with a BFA in music. \nShe is the mother of six children and the grandmother of thirteen grandchildren. She and her husband\, Doug Hansen\, reside and farm in Rupert. She loves serving her home\, community\, and church through music.
