SUMMARY:BJHS/BHS: String Orchestra Concert
DESCRIPTION:Burley High School and Burley Junior High proudly present the joint concert of their respective String Orchestra Ensembles! Directed by Mr. Timothy Wood and Dr. Paul Pugh\, respectively. \nBurley High School String Orchestra: Mr. Tim Wood \nTim Wood joined the staff at Burley High School in 2016 teaching instrumental music classes. Prior to 2016\, Tim taught at Timberlake Schools for nine years. He previously taught in two districts in Washington and at Wenatchee Valley College where he developed a jazz program. He has been working with students of all ages sharing his love of music for over 20 years. \n  \nBurley Jr. High School String Orchestra: Dr. Paul Pugh\, D.A. \nDr. Pugh is in his 14th year of teaching bands and orchestras at Burley Junior High and all four Burley elementary schools to include Mountain View\, Dworshak\, White Pine\, and John Evans Elementary. He has a Doctor of Arts degree in Trumpet Performance/Jazz Pedagogy from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley\, CO (2002). He also holds a Master (1996) and Bachelor degree (1992) in Trumpet Performance from the University of Nevada\, Las Vegas. He received his Associate of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Fullerton College in Fullerton\, CA (1989). \n

SUMMARY:BJHS & BHS Choir Concert
DESCRIPTION:Burley High School and Burley Junior High proudly present the joint concert of their respective choir ensembles\, directed by Mr. “Dusty” Fisher. \nDirector: Mr. D. “Dusty” Fisher \nMr. Fisher has been an frequent face at Burley High School since 2011. He began as a substitute\, working primarily in the Drama department and directing several productions in the absence of the\, then\, full-time director. He took over the Band program full-time in 2013\, following the retirement of Mr. Steve Floyd. Soon after\, he was appointed Director of Choirs\, as well as director of the King Fine Arts Center. \n\nMr. Fisher now directs several vocal ensembles at Burley High School\, as well as at Burley Junior High – in association with Dr. Paul Pugh. His newest high school ensemble Bella Voce has become one of the premier vocal groups of the Magic Valley. Mr. Fisher has a Master’s Degree in Conducting from Eastman School of Music.

DESCRIPTION:View_MPO_Brochure_2021 \nTicket Pricing:\nAdults – $10\nStudents (18 & under) – $3 \n \nSeason Passes (All ages) – $25\n*Season passes may be purchased online or at the door and are good for all three performances! \nAll Magic Philharmonic Orchestra events are general seating only. \nThe Magic Philharmonic Orchestra is a non-profit group consisting of over forty musicians from the Mini-Cassia Area. The selections performed range from classical works to modern show tunes so that there is always something everyone will enjoy. \nGuest Conductor: Jayna Johnson \nJayna teaches Orchestra! She is currently the Orchestra director at East Minico Middle School and teaches 5th grade strings at all of the Minidoka District elementary schools. She has played string instruments since the age of 7\, and graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa\, Idaho with degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance. She taught in the Treasure Valley before she and her husband moved to the Magic Valley to be the worship pastors at Grace Community Church in Rupert. \nJayna lives with her husband\, Matthew and her two children\, Victory and Valor in Rupert.
