Director’s Notes

Dear Audience,

Welcome to our production of “The Drowsy Chaperone!” We are thrilled to have you with us as we bring this beloved musical to life. As you sit down to watch the show, I wanted to share a few thoughts with you that will help you get the most out of this production.

Tone. This show is a comedic musical with a strong element of parody. It’s important to keep an open mind and be ready to embrace the exaggerated, lighthearted tone of the show.

Characterization. Each character in this show has their own unique personality and comedic style. Pay close attention to how each performer brings their character to life, and how their interactions with one another drive the story forward.

Set Design. The set design will transport you back to the 1920s, with its bright colors, exaggerated shapes, and larger-than-life props.Take a moment to appreciate the visual elements of the show, as they play an important role in setting the tone.

Choreography. The choreography in this show is playful, energetic, and reflective of the 1920s musical style. Be prepared to tap your feet and enjoy the high-energy dance numbers.

Music. The music in this show is upbeat and catchy. Let the music carry you away and be prepared to hum the tunes long after the show is over.

We hope that you will enjoy this production as much as we have enjoyed bringing it to you. Thank you for your support and for being a part of this unforgettable experience.

Best regards,

Andrew Gibby

Robert Martin – Jordan Torrez

Jordan is a Burley local. He has been involved in KFAC productions but as so often happens, life pulled him away. He has recently rediscovered his passion on the stage, thanks to the Mount Harrison Heritage Foundation, first in Beauty and the Beast as Lefou, and now as Robert in The Drowsy Chaperone. He has a beautiful wife and five kids who support him in his dreams. The Best Man George – Toby Peterson

Toby Peterson has always had a love of dance. He has been dancing since the age of three. He has been in numerous productions including KFAC’s Newsies, Tarzan and Wilson’s Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Sister Act. Toby enjoys spending time with his wife and three little boys. Feldzeig – Wendell Wells

Dr. Wells is no stranger to the stage but hasn’t “trod the boards” in a while. Theatrical experience goes back to the summer after HS graduation playing the houseboy in “South Pacific”. (Went to tryouts for the HS plays but chickened out before actually taking the stage.) He has been retired for 1 1/2 years after being a Family Physician for 39 years in Burley. He and his wife Mary have two daughters, a son-in-law and a granddaughter (Daphne, she’s adorable.) We have been known to “burst into song” but I don’t think we are “hopelessly deranged”. Wendell is thrilled to be sharing the stage with so many old theater friends and to have made some new ones too. Thanks to backstage and tech crew for making us look and sound so good.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][image_with_animation image_url=”7293″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/4″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text]

Aldolpho – Jordan Sheffer

Jordan loves music and entertaining. Most recently, he delighted audiences as Lumiere and lapped up the laughs as Snoopy. Jordan’s true love is his family! He is a lover of a beautiful lady—his bride, Becky—she says that he is the King of Romance. And she is the cat’s pajamas! They celebrate 20 years together this summer. She and their 5 children are his favorite people to ding along with. Fun fact: On their first few dates, Becky had trouble remembering his name and kept calling him Jared. Ensemble – John Paskett

One of the earliest productions that Mount Harrison Heritage Foundation did at the KFAC was “The Man of La Mancha”, which dared the audience to “Dream the Impossible Dream”. That production I met Julene Thurston and a young Mike Ramsey. Theatre companies are like family. Over the years I have been blessed to be in plays with many others you will see on stage tonight. So sit back in your chair and as out theatre family entertains yours![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_blank” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none” column_link=”http://oakleyvalleyartscouncil.org/”][image_with_animation image_url=”7294″ alignment=”” animation=”Fade In” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” max_width=”100%”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeIn”]
